P7…Investing in education is one of the most effective
ways to break the cycle of poverty. There are far too
many barriers to education for children in impoverished
nations, especially for girls. Traditionally, in Kenya,
families who cannot afford school costs are more likely
to send boys than girls.
Shelter of Hope runs two education centers in Nairobi
slums and Kagan, Homa Bay. The two schools support
vulnerable children through its sponsorship program.
Through the support of partners like Impact Hope
Canada and K3 church Germany, we have achieved
great milestones. The school in Kagan is almost
complete. The children receive learning materials
such as books, pens and crayons. The pupils enjoy
clean drinking water.
