Grev’s Trip to Kenya

Following the Global Track trip to Kenya in April Grev was able to stay on for a couple of days to visit our partner, Shelter of Hope. MMN have been partnering with them for 15 years but it has been a long time since anyone has visited so it was good to be able to see the ministry and spend time with the project

Ukraine Support

ChildAid – Praise God for the summer camps run by ChildAid in Ukraine to offer children some respite from the traumas of war. The children were given some time for play and art therapy, which acted as a wonderful and encouraging distraction from what was going on around them. Please pray the seeds from these camps would encourage these children to explore a relationship with the Lord.

Shelter of Hope Donates Cash & Food Commodities to Support COVID-19 Relief Efforts

It’s a chaotic and stressful time. Poor families are in need of food and essentials to help them make it through the current crisis. During this time, Shelter of Hope (SoH) joins other relief organizations to put smile on the poor faces of Kenyans who cannot afford meal and other essential commodities. COVID-19 EFFECTS IN KENYA

Introduction

COVID-19 pandemic has made Kenyan situation frightening and uncertain.

The Kenyan Government ordered all schools, colleges and universities in the country closed after the confirmation of three people having been infected with Corona-virus. By the end of the week we were at 7, only to be surprised when it rose to 28 confirmed cases recently. This has forced the government to suspend all the churches and mosque gatherings as a further measure to help contain this pandemic. There are still quite a number of patients yet to be confirmed.

2018 YOUTH CAMP

In mid August 2018 127 campers and 15 staff gathered at Grace Bible Chapel, Homabay-Kenya.The camp  program featured most of the regular activities, ranging from volleyball and basketball to high ropes and swimming and boating at the lake.Many campers responded favorably to the Christian living theme “Up The Standard,” and they engaged in Bible discussions not only in classes, but in dorm meetings, question and answer sessions, and just about everywhere around the camp.In an evangelistic crusade held on the fifth-day of the camp converted ten non-believers to Christianity.… Read the rest

‘We treat, God heals’ 2016 Medical Camp

    MEDICAL CAMP AND EVANGELISTIC OUTREACH

Shelter of Hope held a successful medical camp in December 2nd -5th 2016. More than two hundred patients were treated and given medicine.

The medical services provided at the medical camp included;

  • Onsite diagnosis and treatment of ailments
  • Onsite HIV Testing and Counseling (HTC)
  • Initiated strong community linkage of TB/HIV
  • Initiation of Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) to those diagnosed with HIV infection

Resident and foreign volunteer medical practitioners attended to the community members of the Kagan and its environs.
